Michaels Celebrates Grand Opening of Westhaven Park Station
Michaels recently joined City officials, residents, and representatives from the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) and Brinshore Development to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of Westhaven Park Station, the seventh and final phase of new affordable rental housing that has transformed the former site of the Henry Horner public housing complex. New Amenity-Rich Affordable Housing Community Opens in Fairfax County, VA
The Lodge at Autumn Willow comprises 150 units across a two-building development with rich amenities, serving residents with household incomes ranging from 30 to 60 percent of the Area Median Income. Designed by award-winning design firm KTGY, Autumn Willow is inspired by the area’s natural wooded setting, with the goal of connecting residents to nature. Read more here.
Michaels and San Diego Community College District Celebrate Virtual Sneak Peek of First-Ever Affordable Student Housing Community at City College
Earlier this month, Michaels joined the San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) to celebrate a historic milestone with a special “Sneak Peek” event marking the start of construction on the district’s first-ever affordable student housing community at San Diego City College. Featuring immersive virtual reality (VR) walk-throughs, the event gave students, faculty, and staff an early look at the transformational new development which will comprise 283 apartment-style units supporting nearly 800 beds. Michaels Announces Financial Closing on First Phase of Atlanta Civic Center Redevelopment
In partnership with Atlanta Housing and development partners Republic and Sophy Capital, Michaels has announced the financial closing on Atlanta Civic Center Senior, the first of a multi-phase transformational redevelopment of the former Atlanta Civic Center site. Jordan Downs Celebrates a Decade of Revitalization Nearly 500 Watts residents recently joined Michaels, the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA), BRIDGE Housing, Primestor, and local leaders to celebrate “10 Years of Revitalization” at Jordan Downs, culminating in a community block party. The celebration marks a decade of transformative development that has delivered $664 million in new investment to the Watts neighborhood, resulting in the construction of 787 new affordable homes, 120,000 square feet of new retail space, and four new parks. Becker’s Hospital Review: Tampa General Taps into Workforce Housing, Childcare Needs
Tampa General Hospital is designing a 170-unit workforce housing development to improve team members’ access to affordable housing. The hospital owns the property — located a few miles from the main campus — and has partnered with The Michaels Organization on the project. The gated community will include one-, two- and three-bedroom units, designated for individuals earning 80% to 100% of the area median income.
