Michaels Partners with SNRHA to Break Ground on Two New Affordable Housing Developments in Las Vegas
In partnership with the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority, Michaels has broken ground for two new affordable housing developments in Las Vegas, representing Michaels' first ground-up developments in the Nevada market. Combined, the two new communities, Duncan and Edwards and 28th and Sunrise, will bring 201 new affordable apartments to Las Vegas that will serve households earning 30 to 80 percent of Area Median Income. The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation is accepting scholarship applications for the 2025/2026 academic year. All residents living at affordable and military housing communities owned or managed by Michaels who have a high school diploma or equivalent and plan to pursue higher education at a university, college, or trade/professional school are encouraged to apply. Michaels is proud to announce the promotions of teammates Raoul Amescua and Ian Peahota! Raoul, Senior VP of Development, will now oversee Michaels’ affordable, workforce, student, and market-rate multifamily housing development activities in California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Utah, and Hawaii. Ian, Vice President of Design Management, will lead design teams in all aspects of site and vertical design and manages the entitlement and permitting process.
