Michaels Announces Financial Closing on Fort Irwin Apartments
Michaels has reached financial closing on Fort Irwin Apartments, a groundbreaking development that will transform military housing for unaccompanied service members assigned to the U.S. Army’s Fort Irwin installation in California. This first-of-its-kind resort-style community will offer 276 units with a pool and community lounges, and will serve as a pilot of single soldier housing for the future. Read more here.
Michaels Announces Financial Closing of Legends South A3
In partnership with Brinshore Development, Michaels is proud to announce the successful financial closing of Legends South Phase A3, a $40.8 million mixed-income housing development in Chicago's Grand Boulevard community. The development represents a significant milestone in the ongoing transformation of the former Robert Taylor Homes site in the Bronzeville neighborhood and will feature 52 residential units across two buildings and 3,500 SF of commercial space. Michaels and HACC Celebrate Groundbreaking for Ablett Village
Camden City and County officials recently joined executives from The Michaels Organization and the Housing Authority of the City of Camden (HACC) to celebrate the groundbreaking for Ablett Village Phase III A, the third phase of Michaels’ five-phase redevelopment plan for William Stanley Ablett Village. The new community will bring 78 new, energy-efficient, affordable townhomes in 12 buildings to Camden’s Cramer Hill neighborhood. Read more here.
Michaels Breaks Ground on New Amenity-Rich Housing Near Syracuse University
The Michaels Organization has broken ground in New York on The Rosie, a new amenity-rich multifamily community bordering Syracuse University. The new development will feature 286 apartments in studio, one- and two-bedroom layouts, along with amenities including a rooftop deck, BBQs, firepits, a clubroom, a fitness center, and a study/work lounge in addition to 1,000 SF of retail space. Michaels and Camden Officials Welcome HUD for Tour of Camden
Michaels recently welcomed the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for a tour of the Branch Village, Cramer Hill, Ablett Village, and Oliver Station communities, showcasing our newest homeownership, mixed-income, and mixed-use housing communities in Camden. Joined by Camden City leadership, including Mayor Victor Carstarphen, HACC, Camden Community Partnership, and Saint Joseph's Carpenter Society, the tour highlighted how strong public-private partnerships are driving inclusive, sustainable development across the city.

Michaels, GoVenture Capital, and the City of Worcester Celebrate Groundbreaking for The Benjamin on Franklin
City, state, and federal officials recently joined executives of The Michaels Organization and GoVenture Capital to mark the start of The Benjamin on Franklin, a $120 million residential development in downtown Worcester, within walking distance of Union Station. The new development will offer 364 modern apartments in a five-story mid-rise with more than 80,000 SF of amenities. Read more here.

The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation Awards $2.4 Million in Academic Scholarships
The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation has awarded a total of $2,469,500 in academic scholarships to 282 residents living in affordable and military housing communities owned and managed by Michaels throughout the country. This year’s $2.4 million award is the Foundation’s largest donation to date and brings the all-time amount awarded to residents of Michaels’ communities since 1991 to a collective $19 million. Michaels, Urban Practice, and Better Tomorrows Donate 3,100+ Canned Goods to Food Bank of South Jersey
Michaels recently partnered with Urban Practice and Better Tomorrows to ‘Picture a World Free of Hunger’ in support of Canstruction, which combines creativity and community to collect food for local food banks. All food items – a total of 3,150 canned goods – used in the display were donated by teammates of the three participating organizations and were later donated to the Food Bank of South Jersey. This year’s design took home the “2025 People’s Choice” and “2025 Structural Ingenuity” awards. Read more here.

The Harrison Named an NJBIZ 2025 Top Project
The Harrison, Michaels’ second of four phases in the redevelopment of Ablett Village in Camden, has been named to the 2025 NJBIZ Top Projects list. The three-story community, designed by Urban Practice, integrates 55 beautiful mixed-income senior apartments with numerous amenities, including a medical suite for Rutgers University nursing students’ training purposes.
