Oliver Station: Innovative Affordable Housing & On-Site Health Care
Oliver Station, Michaels' newest community in Camden, NJ, features beautiful, affordable housing for those 55 and over, atop a 5,200-square-foot primary care office operated by Virtua Health. The community is the first in South Jersey and the second in the state to benefit from the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency's Hospital Partnership Subsidy Program. The community recently earned a Smart Growth Award from nonprofit New Jersey Future, which recognizes projects, plans, and policies across the state that exemplify sound land-use and sustainable development principles.

Michaels Celebrates Opening of Banyan Residence Hall at Lynn University
The Michaels Organization, together with the leadership of Lynn University, recently celebrated the grand opening of Banyan Residence Hall, new student housing located on the southeast corner of the University’s campus. The 101,232-square-foot community comprises 287 beds, featuring two- and four-bedroom units for second-year students, as well as five resident assistant rooms and housing for an on-site staff area coordinator. Michaels Breaks Ground on the Latest Phase of Legends South
Michaels, alongside city, state, and federal officials, the Chicago Housing Authority, and Brinshore Development took part in a ceremonial groundbreaking to mark the start of Legends South A3, a significant milestone in the ongoing transformation of the former Robert Taylor Homes site in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood. Legends South A3 will offer a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units across two separate buildings with community amenities and ground-floor commercial space. Read more here.
Housing Authority of the City of Camden Selects Michaels to Modernize Three Public Housing Communities
The Michaels Organization has been selected by the HACC to revitalize three senior housing communities in the city – Kennedy, Westfield, and Mickle Towers. The three communities, each built over 50 years ago, collectively comprise 295 age-restricted affordable housing units, in addition to the HACC headquarters in Kennedy Towers. Read more here.

Michaels Acquires Millennium One Student Housing Community
The Michaels Organization, along with its joint venture partner Capital Solutions, has acquired Millennium One, a well-positioned 740-bed student housing asset located just one mile from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte (UNCC). As part of the acquisition, Michaels plans to undertake a series of targeted interior and exterior upgrades, designed to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the community. Read more here.

The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation Opens Applications for Student Living Scholarships for 2025-2026 Academic Year
The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation, a non-profit affiliate of The Michaels Organization, has announced that applications are now open for its 2025-2026 Student Living Scholarship program. The program is specifically designed for students who reside in on- or off-campus student living communities that are owned or managed by The Michaels Organization. Fort Belvoir Residents Receive $437K in Academic Scholarships
The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation recently celebrated the awarding of $437,500 in scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic year to 47 residents living at The Villages of Fort Belvoir, on-post housing owned and managed by Michaels. The awards were a part of the greater $2.4 million awarded by the Foundation, which was announced in June as benefiting residents of Michaels’ military and affordable housing communities. Michaels' Annual Backpack Drive Provides Essential School Supplies for Camden Students
In preparation for the upcoming school year, Michaels teammates at its NJ headquarters filled over 900 backpacks with essential school supplies for Camden residents. Throughout the past few weeks, the bags have been distributed at back-to-school events at Michaels’ affordable housing sites and communities throughout the city with the help of Better Tomorrows and the City of Camden’s Mayor’s Office.
Michaels' Latest Phase of Jordan Downs Redevelopment Welcomes New Residents
Ten years ago, in partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles, Michaels embarked on a $2+ billion redevelopment of the Jordan Downs public housing community in Watts. Now, a decade later, Michaels' fourth residential phase has begun welcoming residents home, including those who were formerly homeless. The Michaels Organization Welcomes New Senior Vice President of Marketing & Innovation
Michaels has welcomed Michael Manfred as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Innovation, who comes to the organization with more than two decades of multifamily leadership experience. In this new role, Manfred will have lead responsibility for marketing, revenue management, and the customer experience for Michaels' national portfolio of affordable, market-rate, student, and military housing. Mohsin Azmi Named Vice President of Acquisitions
Michaels’ Mohsin Azmi has been recently promoted from Director to Vice President of Acquisitions. In this new role, Azmi will continue to lead acquisitions across the Southeast United States and will expand his focus by collaborating with teammates on Project-Based Section 8 opportunities nationally. Azmi joined Michaels in 2021 and has played a pivotal role in sourcing, evaluating, and executing acquisitions across affordable, workforce, and student housing.
