Upcoming Event: Gasparilla Treasure Hunt

Get ready for adventure! The Harbor Bay Gasparilla Treasure Hunt is happening on Friday, 1/23, and will kick off at 4:00 PM at the Welcome Center. 

Participants will follow clues to track down hidden notes scattered throughout the Harbor Bay communities. These notes will reveal secret codes that will help three fearless crews unlock their treasure chest! We look forward to seeing ye thar, ready for treasure and fun!

Upcoming Office Closures

Please note our offices will be closed on Monday, 1/19 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday. If you experience a maintenance emergency or wish to submit a work order during this time, please call our 24-Hour Maintenance Line at (813) 840-2000.

Scholarship Applications Will Open in February

Harbor Bay residents have access to a unique scholarship program for all family members with plans to continue their education, either full- or part-time, at any accredited college, university, or vocational school. High school seniors, as well as current undergraduates or returning students, are eligible. The online application process will open in early February for the 2026/27 academic year. In total, 134 MacDill residents have been awarded scholarships totaling over $383K since 2008. One of our most recent scholarship winners, Owen, awarded in 2025, is currently pursuing a degree in criminology at Florida State University with the goal of becoming an attorney. Military Spouse Employment Opportunities

The Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), is a special program offered through the U.S. Department of Defense that connects military spouses with partner employers who have committed to recruit, hire, promote and retain military spouses. MacDill is one of the partner employers who are committed to supporting spouses' professional growth and success. Learn more about the program here. 

Is Your Spouse Deployed?

Take advantage of our Deployed Spouses Program, which provides additional support to families experiencing deployment during their time living at Harbor Bay. This program offers extra support to these families for small household tasks, such as lawn maintenance, hanging up home decorations, and other miscellaneous “to-dos” around the house. Please contact the office if we can provide you with this support.

EV Charging

Do you have an electric vehicle? If the answer is yes, you may be interested to know that MacDill has a unique partnership with TRO Energy Solutions (TROES) as part of our commitment to sustainability. TROES can install Level 2 EV charging equipment right at your home. The equipment is tested and maintained by TROES, and residents can use the chargers with ease through TROES’ ChargeTime app. Consult your welcome packet for all the details, or call our office for more information.

Staff Spotlight: Billy Lawson

We are pleased to announce that Billy Lawson, Vice President of Military Operations, now has primary oversight for all operations at Harbor Bay at MacDill. Billy brings more than a decade of leadership experience across the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps housing to his role. A U.S. Army veteran, he earned an Army Achievement Medal for innovation in systems training and leadership. His deep commitment to operational excellence and team development will further strengthen our mission of delivering exceptional service to the military families of Harbor Bay.

We are pleased to share a new, enhanced resident portal, LOFT Living, that offers residents a one-stop shop to submit routine maintenance requests, pay your rent online, access community documents, and learn about community updates and announcements. All residents’ information, documents, and previous interactions have been securely transferred to LOFT Living.

December Movie Night

Last month, residents bundled up for a cozy outdoor screening of The Polar Express on the Welcome Center back patio. We enjoyed popcorn and hot chocolate while watching the movie together. Thanks for joining and helping us close out 2025 with a festive and fun event! We look forward to more in 2026.
